Construction features

At Jayco, we’ve built a reputation for superior construction and quality craftsmanship. We pride ourselves on always using top-quality materials and innovative manufacturing techniques. That commitment has led to our latest construction advancement, the all-new exclusive Magnum Truss Roof System, 50 percent stronger than other roofs in the industry, built to outlast everything but your memories.

FLOOR CONSTRUCTION

  • 5/8" tongue-and-groove plywood on 2" x 3" wooden floor joists on 16” centers: More moisture resistant, plywood holds up to the elements
  • Full-width outriggers: Supports wall weight with 4-foot spacing (vs. 8-foot spacing) and wall-to-wall, full-width design
  • Bedroom floor flexfoil and fiberglass insulation: Maintains interior temperatures in the bedroom
  • Double layer of front cap fiberglass insulation: Helps maintain interior temperatures in the bedroom

WALL CONSTRUCTION

  • TuffShell vacuum-bonded sidewalls, slideouts and back wall: Involves 15-18 minutes of 144 tons of pressure to ensure a stronger bond
  • Smooth fiberglass exterior: Withstands use and travel—and Mother Nature, too
  • Welded aluminum frames: Lighter than wood, increases Eagle HT's towability

ROOF CONSTRUCTION

  • 4 1/2" crowned wood trusses: Uses 2"x 2" vertical studs to maximize load capacity, while oversized nail plates provide a tighter design
  • 3/8" roof decking, screwed down at every seam: More durable than typical stapled construction, provides fully walkable roof
  • Residential attic-style insulation: Maintains interior temperatures while allowing for room to run wiring, reducing risky electrical shorts
  • One-piece, sidewall-wrapped Alpha Ply material: Provides leak protection

Eagle HT's standard Glacier Package provides thermal protection by combining the most protected underbelly in the industry with the highest BTU output furnace in its class . The enclosed underbelly, tucked and foamed inside the I-beam rails, features blown heat and triple-insulated holding tanks.

The Glacier Package features the following R-values.

About the Manufacturer

Jayco, Inc. was founded in 1968 by a man of strong faith and vision. The late Lloyd J. Bontrager, family man and inventor, felt he could build the world a better RV. He longed to create a company of his own, one that clearly reflected his ideals: a company where everyone would be treated as "family". With encouragement from his wife Bertha, Lloyd started Jayco on their farm--in two chicken houses and a barn! He developed his own prototype camping trailer and a unique lifter system for fold-down campers, the basic design of which is patented and still in use today. By the end of 1968, his fledgling company of 15 employees had sold 132 fold-down camping trailers. Today, Jayco's "family" of employees has grown to nearly 1,600 people, while more than 25,000 people join our "extended family" of customers each year. Jayco, Inc. develops and manufactures a full-line of recreation vehicles at its company headquarters in rural Middlebury, Indiana. With a history dating back to 1968, Jayco's mission remains unchanged—to build exemplary RV's and provide customers with extraordinary service after the sale.
